(1916 - 2005)

Leo A. Ploor, age 89, a Two Rivers resident, died late Saturday evening, April 30, 2005 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay.

Leo was born on April 12, 1916 in Nasewaupee in Door County, son of the late Anton and Hattie (Karnitz) Ploor. He attended and graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School. On Oct. 28, 1939, he married the former Edna I. Liddle at St. Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. She preceded him in death on Aug. 5, 1999. Leo served in the United States Army-Air Force during World War II. He was employed for many years at Kahlenberg Co. in Two Rivers. He also was employed at Manitowoc Engineering for over 30 years until he retired. Leo was a former member of St. Mark's Choir for over 60 years, the Meister Signers, and Holy Cross Catholic Church Choir. He was also a member of the Two Rivers Men's Choir.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law: Susan Ploor, Grafton; Marlene and John Herrmann, Two Rivers; Carole and Edward Last, Colorado; one son and daughter-in-law: Gregory and Debbie Ploor, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ruth Barbeau, Manitowoc; and Cele Kotchi, Two Rivers. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William O'Brien with entombment to follow at Calvary Chapel Mausoleum, Manitowoc. The family will greet relatives and friends at church on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m.

The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Two Rivers, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
