Robert BENSON
Robert (Bob), 85, of Paramus, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014. He was a Paramus resident for 58 years.
He was employed by the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company for 45 years before retiring in 1995. He was a member of Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church, Senior Pioneers of Paramus, Harmonics Choral Group of Paramus, Choraliers Choral Group and Paramus Police Reserves. He was an Altar Server for Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church and delivered food for Meals on Wheels. Robert was an Army veteran.
He is survived by his beloved wife Eileen (nee Krumm) of 64 years. Devoted father to their four children, Kathy Tass and her husband John of Lake Hiawatha, Maureen Di Paolo and her husband Joe of Dumont, Sean Benson and his wife Corinne of Paramus. He was predeceased by daughter Colleen Benson (1989). Adored grandfather of Johnny, Bob and April-Ann Tass; Brian Di Paolo; Sean Jr., Erin and Cory Benson.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Vander Plaat Memorial Home 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday October 20 at Vander Plaat Memorial Home, followed by a funeral mass at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church, 234 N. Farview Avenue, Paramus. Cremation will be private.
