Katherine L. “Kitty” Femia

On July 28, 2014 Katherine L. “Kitty” Femia, beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Femia, loving mother of Joseph M. Femia and his wife Kim, Susan M. Femia and her fiancée Kevin Grasso and Patricia E. Femia, cherished grandmother of Kristin M. Kearney and her husband Shane, Kevin M. Henline, Dominic K. Silvestri, and Nicole M. Silvestri, great grandmother of Emersyn Rose Kearney, dear sister of the late Elizabeth “Betty” Childress, James Rogers and Nancy Ney.

Growing up Mrs. Femia was a very active and longtime member of Emory United Methodist Church serving as Treasurer for the church. She later went on to join Bethany United Methodist Church and was very active until her passing. She was a member and past Treasurer of Bethany’s Best which provides meals once a month for the 55 and older parishner’s and she was Co-Chair of the Bereavement Reception Luncheon Committee. She was responsible for Communion the first Sunday of every month and she was part of the team that started the Prison Ministry which provides packages for the indigent prisoners. Mrs. Femia was cofounder of the Howard County Kidney Fund which provides services to dialysis patients in the area. As a member of the Howard County women’s Club she assisted with the annual trick or treat for UNICEF.

Funeral Services from the above church Friday 11 a.m. Interment St. Johns Cemetery.
