KNAPP, Ellsworth R. of Clio, age 91, Went to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 14, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday, November 17, 2009 at the O Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial will be at Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 5-9 PM, Tuesday from 12-4 and 6-9 PM and on Wednesday from 12 noon until time of services. Contributions may be made to American Lung Association. Ellsworth was born January 8, 1918 in Lansing to the late Claude and Eva (Richardson) Knapp. He was a lifelong resident of Clio. Ellsworth served in the US Army. He married Elizabeth Richardson on February 28, 1941. She preceded him in death on June 2, 2009. Mr. Knapp retired from Fisher Coldwater with 25 years seniority. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are: children, Ellsworth (Lois) Knapp Jr. of Montrose; Diana Ahrens of Clio and Gary (Susan) Knapp of Clio; son-in-law, Edward Ayotte of Indian River; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Claude (Sharon) Knapp of Au Gres; sisters, Betty Bellknapp, of Clio, Maryann Gaines of Skidway Lake; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: a daughter, Linda Ayotte; a son Glenn Knapp and his wife Kitty; a granddaughter, Karen Knapp; a grandson, Edward Ayotte Jr.; 2 brothers and a sister. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Paez from Visiting Physicians, and those from McLaren Home, Health and Hospice; social worker Tammy, RN Natalie, nurse Gwen and home aide Chiquita.
