Claude was born to Claude Leland Thorne and Wilma Irene (Spiedell) Thorne.
He attended school in Nebraska City and graduated from Nebraska City High School with the class of 1963.
Claude married Judith K. Oelke on February 6-1965 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Nebr. City.
He worked at Morton House Kitchens for a short time and then began working for the Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1967. Missouri Pacific Railroad was later assumed by the Union Pacific and Claude retired from U.P. in 2004.
Claude was a long time member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Nebraska City and was very active in the church serving in various capacities. He was also a former member of the Nebr. City Rescue Squad.
