Jerry L. Walker, 60, Muncie, passed away Saturday morning, October 14, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born Wednesday, September 25, 1957 in Muncie, the son of Charles Frank and Martha L. (Wise) Walker. Jerry served in the United States Navy; he worked at Progress Rail for six years. Jerry was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Yorktown, he enjoyed fishing, going hunting; Jerry was loved by everyone. Jerry's family was a very special part of his life and he loved spending time with his children, and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Judy K. (Coates) Walker, mother Martha L. (Wise) Walker; five children, Jerry (JJ) Walker Jr., Jimmy Coates, Ronald Strean, Jerrika Walker, and Ashley Walker-Sharp; two sisters, Sidney Kinard, and Rhonda (husband Ronnie) Smith; twelve grandchildren, Justin Coates, Jordan Coates, Jeremiah Coates, Jennessa Coates, Jaylynn Coates, Jayteanna Rowe-Sharp, Bradon Sharp Jr., Brintton Sharp, Jaythan Walker, Aidyn Taylor, Logan Walker, and Kamdyn Walker; special nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father Charles F. Walker; one granddaughter Jaylee Strean; and one brother, Jack M. Walker.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
