Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Katie (White) Adler.
Edith graduated East Hampton High School and went on to graduate Bryant College. She was employed by ABC Television in New York when she met her husband. They married in Middletown, lived in New York and Houston, TX and settled back in Middletown in 1968.
Edith worked at Venture Partners for over thirty years. Edith was a member of Congregation Adath Israel Synagogue where she was a former Board member and Secretary of the Sisterhood and a lifetime member of Hadassah. She also was active with the Jewish War Veterans.
Edith is survived by two sons, Jonathan Betts and his wife, Kathy of Madison and Michael Betts and his wife, Eileen of Wethersfield; her brother, Jacob "Jack" Adler and his wife, Linda of Middletown; three grandchildren, Kate, Thomas and Alexa; two nieces, Barbara Axmacher (Tom) and Susan Dickes (Timothy); a nephew, Alan Adler (Sue) and four great-nieces and nephews, Raleigh, Hannah, Conner and Jenna.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 19 at Congregation Adath Israel Synagogue, Middletown.
Burial will follow in Adath Israel Cemetery, Middletown.
