He enjoyed going to the farm and working with his cattle. Lindy was in the banking business for 37 years and retired as President and CEO. He was a true St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan and on his 80th birthday attended a game in St. Louis with Larry Salyer. Lindy was elected to the South Central Texas Baseball Hall of Fame. Known for his laughter, Lindy was always good humored and friendly and loved a good joke and being around family and friends.
Lindy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Whitmore, Earl, Ray, Wallace, Hubert, and H. T. Voelkel.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 19, 2017, 5:00 – 7:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel – Yorktown. Funeral service will be Friday, October 20, 2017, at 10:00am at Finch Funeral Chapel - Yorktown with Pastor Sue Irvin and Pastor Jeff Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Nordheim Cemetery.
