Nora Zimmermann, age 92, entered her eternal home in Heaven on October 15, 2017 at her daughter's home in Blue Earth, MN.

She was born on May 16, 1925 to Ottillie (Muench) and Arthur Seefeld in North Fond du lac, WI. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fond du lac. She enjoyed her childhood in the city with her school very close to her home and many friends in her block. Nora attended high school at Winnebago Lutheran Academy and then went on to Fond du lac Commercial College for business. She was working at the Department of Agriculture during WWII when her Pastor came and asked her to consider attending Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, to become a teacher and help fill the great teacher shortage that the war had produced. She heeded his request and did go to school in New Ulm, and also to Concordia in Oak Park, IL. Her first teaching position was in Glencoe, MN. After one year in Glencoe she was called to St. John St. James in Reedsville, where she taught for six years before marrying a local farmer and fellow church and choir member, Albert Zimmermann.

They were married in Fond du lac on July 15, 1951, and Nora settled into farm life, but she was always available to substitute teach if she was needed. Nora went back to teaching fulltime in 1970, and taught for another 20 years. Nora and Albert cared for many relatives when needs arose and they hosted countless gatherings at their farm; few days were void of welcoming beloved family and friends. Nora was devoted to her Lord, her family and her students.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Terry Barnes; granddaughter Casey (Steve) Bensen; grandson Brian (Elizabeth) Barnes; great grandson Malcolm Peitrzmann Barnes; extended family Harold and Faye Krueger and their children James (Amy); Amy (Troy) McCargar; Paul (Sharon); and their seven grandchildren; foster son Richard Schmidt, Cyndi Loos, and daughter Nicole, many dear nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, special colleague Ellen Geiger and life-long friends Lorraine Dickert and Ruth Seefeld.

She is preceded in death by her husband Albert; parents; brother Oliver and sister-in-law Myrtle; granddaughter Sarah; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Norbert Zimmermann; Raymond and Betty Zimmermann; Leonard and Margaret Zimmermann; Frieda and Norbert Braun; Harry and Ann Ziarnik and Clara and Arnold Rappel.

Funeral Service for Nora will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017 at St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. The Rev. Darin Aden is officiating. Burial will be in St. John St. James Lutheran Cemetery.
