Clarence Acker (1919 - 2011)of Zanesville, died at 5:05 a.m. Friday, December 09, 2011 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born March 22, 1919, in Batavia, Ohio, a son of the late Otto II and Helen Long Acker. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1948. He retired after 35 years of service as an electrical engineer for McGraw Edison. He was a United States Navy Veteran, where he served in the Radio Room during WWII on the Tulagi in the Pacific.

Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Betty Westcott Acker, whom he married in 1978, of the home; a daughter, Bonita Acker (Bill) Murray of Crossville, TN; two grandsons, Wayne Bischoff of Michigan and Scott (Lori) Bischoff of Richmond, IN; two great grandchildren, Erica and Aaron Bischoff of Richmond, IN; a brother, Otto Acker of Columbus, OH; a nephew, Gary Acker of Columbus, OH; a niece, Shirley (Chester) Britt of Columbus, OH; and great nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be held. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. A dignified cremation has taken place.
