Gertrude “Trudy” Carter was born in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma on April 1, 1930 and passed away on October 17, 2017 at the age of 87.
Trudy is survived by her daughters, Karen Young of Tulsa and Linda Yandell of Los Angeles, California, grandson Brian Young and granddaughter Shannon Young of Tulsa, her older sister Della McMahan, 91, of Owasso and many nieces and nephews. She was the youngest of 11 children born to Martha Florence and N.A. Yandell.
Trudy was preceded in death by her son Rocky Hutson, brothers Reverend Charlie Yandell, Earl Yandell, Melvin Yandell, Frank Yandell, William Yandell, sisters Grace Sherman, Effie Foster, Vera Nunley, Oleta Yandell and her parents who each lived to be 93.
Trudy was a devoted, selfless mother that sacrificed for her three children who adored her. She was her own mother’s constant companion and caregiver in her mother’s later years. She also provided loving care for her son Rocky until his passing in 2009. Her passing will leave a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel with burial in South Heights Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 am until 5 pm and Sunday from 1-8 pm at Green Hill Funeral Home. The family has entrusted the services to Green Hill Funeral Home.
