He will also be missed by: his son, Johnny Bill (Melissa) Lacey of Georgetown; his daughter, Debra (Danny) Knoblett of Indianola; his grandchildren, Meghann (Chris Mullendore) Lacey of Danville & Taylor Knoblett of Indianola; his great grandchild, Ophelia Mullendore; his brothers, Ronald “Butch” (Nancy) Lacey and Danny Ray (Marla) Lacey, both of Georgetown; his sister, Tawna (Gene) Gilbert of Georgetown; his many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Bonnie Saathoff.
John had worked as a meat-cutter at Eisner store and then built and operated his own store, John’s Foodbasket, in Georgetown. He loved playing poker and traveling with his wife, especially visiting Las Vegas a few times a year. He was an avid Cardinals fan. John loved his family and enjoyed his grandchildren very much. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at 11:00am, Friday, October 27, 2017, at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown, with Pastor John Myers officiating. Visitation will be held 4:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday, October 26, 2017, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in John’s name to the non-food pantry at Georgetown Friends Church.
