Mrs. Laurel G. Beebe,75, of Charlotte, died Friday, June 27, 1997, at Presbyterian Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 1997, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1623 Carmel Road. A reception will follow at the resident of Roger Beebe and Nance Smithwick, 4200 Oldfield Road.
Laurel was raised in Minnesota and worked for Lord & Taylor in the Philadelphia area for 35 years. She and her husband moved to Charlotte three years ago to be closer to family. They quickly grew to love their wonderful neighbors. Laurel was an incredibly generous, caring and compassionate person who deeply touched many people. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful smile. She was very interested in others and was always thinking of ways to help.
She was the beloved wife of Robert and sister of Charlene, Marloe, Clarice and Verne. Her other survivors include her children, Linda Pontier and her husband, John, of Columbia, MD, Roger Beebe and his wife, Nance Smithwick, of Charlotte, and Cheryl Bauer and her husband, John, of North Palm Beach, FL; and her grandchildren, Chris, Bethany, Debbie, Anderson and Drayton.
The family would like to thank Dr. James Pugh and the staff at Intergrated Health Services for their extraordinary care and support.
