On December 23, 1933, Charlotte Yvonne (Bailey) Murry was born in Nevada County near Rosston, Arkansas. She died on October 20, 2017. Yvonne graduated from Willisville High School in 1951. She married Marvin Murry, and they celebrated life together for 63 years until his death in 2014. Their devotion to one another is illustrated in a homemade card Marvin crafted for Yvonne on Valentine's Day in 1996. It read: "Roses are red. Violets are blue. After 45 years, I still love you." When they married, Yvonne joined the United Methodist Church. She served in a full spectrum of church work that included the United Methodist Women, Sunday School classes, choirs, and served with Marvin as a Lay Member of the Annual Conference for 20 years. Yvonne retired from the Camden office of the Arkansas Forestry Commission in 1996. Her hobbies were sewing and needlework, hand crafting greeting cards and cooking. She made chicken and dumplings in the tradition of her mother, and her grandkids looked forward to her syrup cookies. Her family was a vital part of her life. After the deaths of her parents, she joined her brothers and sisters in establishing Family Day, a monthly reunion of the Bailey siblings and their spouses.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband Marvin; her parents William Robert Bailey and Ouida Luck Bailey; her brothers Welton, Truett, and Gurvin; her sister Hera; two infant sons James Michael Murry and Don Allen Murry; and two great-grandchildren Alexis Faith Murry and Elias Kabuye Sebunya. She is survived by two sons: Charles and his wife Cheri, and Johnnie and his wife Pattie; four grandchildren Julie Sebunya and husband Tim, April Huskey and husband Eddy, Andy Murry and wife Kimberly, and William Murry and wife Amanda; eight grandchildren Ty Murry, Abigail Huskey, Hunter Murry, Tyler Deen, Liam Huskey, Cole Murry, Timothy Sebunya, Axton Murry; her sister Mary; and a large extended family.
Visitation with family will be October 27th at Lewis Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Willisville United Methodist Church on October 28th at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Waterloo, Arkansas.
