. OQUAWKA, Ill - Chester P. Adair, 88, Oquawka, died Saturday afternoon, Jan. 7 at Community Memorial Hospital, Monmouth. Ill.
. He was born July 1, 1895, in BiggsvIlle to Henry and Agnes Gibb Adair.
. He was educated in the rural schools of the Biggsville area. He married Elsie Maude Dobbs. She died Feb. 4, 1954.
. He was a farmer. He was of the Presbyterian faith and was a member of the senior citizens organization of Oquawka. He served in World War I.
. Surviving: Two daughters, Mrs. Authel (Deloris) Haynes, Oquawka, and Elsie Darlene Adair, Oquawka: two sons, Dale D. Adair, Oquawka, and Paul Donald Adair, Little York; two sisters. Hazel Dotts, Monmouth, and Bess Rankin, Galesburg: one brother, William, Nauvoo; seven grandchildren; four greatgrand children.
. Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday. Jan. 9, Sederwall Chapel, Biggsville, the Rev. Richard Lewis; Biggsville Cemetery. A memorial for the Oquawka senior citizens organization has been established.
