Jacob Mooney; Owned Motel In Lehighton

Jacob H. Mooney, 58, of 116 Lehigh Ave. (rear), Palmerton, owner and operator of Mooney's Motel in Lehighton for the past 25 years, died Monday at his home.

He also owned Mooney's Bottled Gas, which is located to the front of his residence.

He was the husband of the late Lauretta E. (Smith) Mooney, who died in 1962.

Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Jacob and Sarah (Green) Mooney Sr.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Palmerton.

Surviving are a daughter Shirley, wife of Carl Sikorsky of Lehighton; two sons, Earl of Catasauqua and George of Allentown; three brothers, William and Ralph, both of Palmerton, and Charles of Pasadena, Calif.; two sisters, Alice, wife of John Naratil, and Edith, wife of Ralph Snyder, both of Palmerton, and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be announced by the R.M. James Funeral Home, 145 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.
