She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Allie Flippin Black, her husband of 50 plus years Basil Pickens and her grandson William Garrett Pickens. She is survived by her daughter Gina Pickens of Memphis; one son Edwin (Mary) Pickens of Washington DC; one granddaughter Elizabeth Pickens; a cousin William Edwin Harris and a niece Betty Hays.
