Donald Ray Hayes 69, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. He was saved at Community Baptist Church where he served as a faithful member, deacon, and home preacher for over 30 years. Donnie also served in the Army with his twin brother Ronald (Ronnie) Hayes who passed away on the same day in 2014. Donnie worked at Wallace Hardware and was the shop foreman of Seven Wheels. Donnie is preceded in death by his wife, June Hayes; daughter, Traci Sargent; parents, Roy (Tom) and Irene Hayes and twin brother Ronald (Ronnie) Hayes.
Donnie is survived by his daughter, Kathy Denise Hayes; son-in-law, Ron Sargent; grandchildren, Ashlie Lewis, Allison Sargent, Cole Sargent and Kenadi Sargent; great-grandchildren, Kinslie Pridgen and Nolan Watson; sister-in-law, Linda Sue Hayes and nephew Scott Hayes.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 – 7:30 Friday, October 20, 2017 in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to the service at 7:30 with Reverends Rex Russell and Robbie Linkous presiding. Military graveside services will be 10:30 am Saturday, October 21, 2017 in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
