He was born in Cameron, Mo., living in St. Joseph most of his life. Carlos had served in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion. He also spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Richard and Ursula Barnard; and two brothers, Marvin and Richard Barnard.
He is survived by two sons, Howard Barnard, and wife, Joella, Maitland, Mo.; and Gary Barnard, St. Joseph; a daughter, Carla Barnard, Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Lawrence Barnard, St. Joseph; two sisters, Joyce Luman, Florida; and Mary Welch, Cameron, Mo.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Mr. Barnard was cremated under the direction of Clark-Sampson Funeral Home, St. Joseph.
