Elmer was born September 21, 1929, in Pound, Wisconsin to Charles and Augusta (Patz) Beissel.

He married Johanna Vanderwal on December 16, 1949, in East Friesland, Wisconsin.

Elmer loved fishing, hunting, and having fun with the guys.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Augusta Beissel; wife, Johanna Beissel; sisters, Marge (John) Gretzon & Agnes (Eddie) Kowalski and brother-in-law, Clarence “Pinky” Pinkalla.
