Tressie Mae Abney, daughter of William "Bill" Maggard and Gertrude Manes Maggard, was born April 18, 1931, in Bruner, and died at 10:35 a.m., Dec. 12, 2002, in her home in Marshfield at the age of 71 years, seven months and 24 days. Tressie was united in marriage to Kenneth S. Abney on Feb. 15, 1980, in Miami, Okla. She was also an 18-year employee of French's. Her parents; a brother, Dillard Maggard; a half-brother, Delbert Hall; and a grandson, Harley Lee Ladd, preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; three daughters, Wanda Davis and husband Paul, Mammoth Spring, Ark., Kathy Petri, Olney Springs, Colo., and Misty Abney, Marshfield; a son, Kenny Abney, Kansas City, Kan.; a stepbrother, Jimmie Johnson; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several other relatives and friends. Services were Dec. 14, in Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield, with the Revs. James Crawford and Hubert Swearengin officiating. Burial was in the Pembina Cemetery, Rogersville.
