Becker, Florine Martha Warwick 93, of Duncanville, Texas, died peacefully of natural causes, Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 3:38am.Florine was born February 2, 1916 in Weatherford, Texas to Henry John Warwick and Clarissa Jane Maddux Warwick, along with three other siblings. She lived the rest of her life in Oak Cliff and Duncanville, Texas. Her marriage to Warren Becker (died 1968) marked a milestone in her life, one which she cherished until her death.Florine graduated from Sunset High School, Oak Cliff, in 1933. After attending secretarial school, she was committed to her beloved occupation as the Senior Executive Secretary for 35 years to Mr. James C. Dycus, President of Oak Cliff Bank & Trust Co., Dallas, Texas, until his retirement. Florine was a conscientious and dedicated employee, a focus she brought into her daily life. Because of this, we are who we are.Her greatest passions were Bowling (until age 87), Ballroom and Square Dancing. Other hobbies and interests included crossword, jigsaw puzzles, flower gardening, board games. She greatly loved her miniature poodles, Honey, Alexander, Chantelle. Florine attended Rosemont Christian Church. Her biggest disappointment in life was to have outlived her only child, Roxie Dianne Stutesman (died 1996). Florine will be buried next to her husband Warren and near her daughter Dianne at Laurel Land Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. Florine is survived by grandchildren Teri F. Van Meter of Houston Texas; Tip M. VanMeter of Nagoya City, Japan; and David W. VanMeter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Florine is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren ,and 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation will be Wed. 11/11/09 from 11-12:30p.m., with services to follow at 1 p.m. at the graveside, weather permitting, or chapel if inclement weather, Mark Bertuzzi to officiate the service.
