Armella C. Sabell, age 91, of Sheboygan, died peacefully on Monday evening, October 30, 2017 at Meadow View Manor Nursing Home, Sheboygan. Armella was born on September 14, 1926 in the town of Eaton; daughter of the late Roland and Theckla (Schmitt) Westphalen. She attended Elder Grove Grade School. On March 30, 1946 she married Thomas A. Sabell at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Port Washington. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2013. Armella was proud of her 50-year membership with the VFW Auxiliary as well as her involvement with the Ladies Aid Society for many years. Together Armella and Thomas lived in Wausaukee before moving to Sheboygan Falls. She enjoyed woodworking and quilting in her free time and loved to share her work. Armella was a very proud grandmother and wonderful role model to her grandchildren, her great-great granddaughter knew her as “grandma chocolate.” Armella is survived by her daughter: Linda Clausing; two grandchildren: Michelle Clausing and Melanie (Shawn Miles) Clausing-Miles; three great grandchildren: Thomas Ellner, Shelton Ellner and Dustin Clausing; and her great-great granddaughter: Maiyanah Soto. She is further survived by her sisters and brother: Evelyn Zeman, Harriet Kappelman, Wilbur (Eleanor) Westphalen and Virginia (Donald) Dickrell, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, one sister and one brother: Romilda (Reuben) Heinen and Allen (Lorraine) Westphalen; two brothers-in-law: Melvin Zeman and Carl Kappelman.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Armella will be held at 11:30AM on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th Street, Kiel. Officiating at the service will be Joe Zenk, Parish Director of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, with burial to follow at the Eaton Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 10:30AM until the time of service at 11:00AM on Saturday.
