James F. Damman, age 78 of 1739 Lilac Drive, Manitowoc died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County.

James was born on September 12, 1935 in Manitowoc son of the late William and Josephine (Chalupny) Damman. He grew up in Manitowoc and was a 1953 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On June 16, 1956 Jim was married to the former Joyce Dassey in Two Rivers. He worked at the Mirro Company for 44 years as a production supervisor retiring in 1997. Jim enjoyed camping and deer hunting. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and the Silver Sneakers exercise group at the YMCA. Jim was an avid Packer's, Cub's, Badger's, Notre Dame and Nascar fan, and a proud stockholder of the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include his wife: Joyce Damman, Manitowoc; three daughters and one son-in-law: Margaret "Peggy" Dufek, Manitowoc; Lynn Lesperance, Manitowoc and her special friend: James Drida; Sue (Brian) Schermetzler, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Thomas (Kristine) Damman, Manitowoc; 8 grandchildren: Heather (Daniel) Pfundtner; Kimberly Dufek; Nicole Lesperance; Brandon Lesperance; Elise Damman; Bryce Damman; Jacob Schermetzler; Arianna Schermetzler; two great grandchildren: Allegra and Mason Pfundtner; one brother-in-law: Neil (LaVerne) Dassey, Mishicot; and his special pal: Snickers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Josephine Damman; one son-in-law: Philip Dufek; three sisters and four brothers-in-law: Adeline (Charles) Parizek; Rose Mary (Eugene) Budnik; Anna Mae (Kenneth) Grall; Arno Hiller.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo - 1121 North 14th St, Manitowoc. The Rev. Dave Pleier will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with entombment to follow in the Calvary Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
