Thomas A Keith was born on February 3, 1880 near Cowan, Franklin, County, Tennessee, the son of Francis Isham "Frank" Keith (1852–1907) and Margaret "Maggie" (Garner) Keith (1855–1932).

He was married on July 18, 1900 in Wilson County, Tennessee to Octava A "Tava" Thomson (1871–1958), and they moved to Nashville in 1901.

Thomas was an electrician for Nashville City Power Plant and living at #8 South 4th Street. He was 54 years old and married when he was repairing a line at 19th Avenue North & Cedar Street on July 26, 1934 and came in contact with a live wire. He fell, fracturing multiple bones, and he died two days later at Protestant Hospital.

Survivors included his widow Tava Thompson Keith, brotheer William Keith and sisters Mrs M C Dale and Mrs G W Draper in Nashville and Mrs R L Baugh of Chattanooga.

Funeral Services were held on July 30th at West Nashville Presbyterian Church, and burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville.
