Earl W. Firman, 64, Former Coshocton Man, Dies in Medina

Earl W. Firman, 64, Medina, former resident of Coshocton and Newcomerstown, died at 11 p.m. yesterday in Medina hospital after suffering a stroke several hours earlier in his home.

Mr. and Mrs. Firman lived in Coshocton until 1935 when they moved to Newcomerstown where he was associated with the Besst Cleaners. In 1945 they moved to Medina.

He was born Oct. 23, 1881 in Wellington, the son of Darwin and Sarah Esther Firman. On Dec. 25, 1901, he was married to Artie M. Lower, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Roy [1902-1978] and Ralph Firman, both of Lakewood. One daughter [Ada Besst] preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Newcomerstown United Brethren Church, the Lone Star Lodge, Coshocton Council 110, and was past patron of the Oriental chapter OES, and past high priest of the Migent chapter of the Masonic lodge.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Longacre funeral home, Medina. Burial will be in Lakewood cemetery, Barberton.
