Natalie Brown Dennis, 93, of Moncks Corner, SC, widow of Senator Rembert C. Dennis, Sr., died Thursday afternoon at a North Charleston hospital.

Her funeral will be 3:00 PM Sunday afternoon, November 5, 2017, in the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery, Pinopolis. The family will receive friends at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM Saturday afternoon. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 112 E. Main St., Moncks Corner, SC 29461, or to the First Baptist Church, 112 E. Main St., Moncks Corner, SC 29461.

Mrs. Dennis was born November 17, 1923, in McCormick, SC, a daughter of Luke Nathaniel Brown and Henrietta Dorn Brown. She was the valedictorian of McCormick High School, graduated from Rice Business School, and received an honorary baccalaureate degree from Baptist College. Mrs. Dennis was a member of the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner, where she formerly served as a Sunday school teacher and President of the Women's Missionary Society. Throughout her life Mrs. Dennis participated in many events and organizations such as, the State and County Historical Societies, the Moncks Corner/Pinopolis Book Club and Garden Club, and the Palmetto Cabinet. She formerly worked for the SC Highway Department prior to beginning her time with the SC House of Representatives. Mrs. Dennis was a recipient of the Order of the Palmetto, and she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Kathryn Dennis.
