Funeral services were held Friday morning at 8:30 o'clock at St. Frances de Sales church at Ossian for Mrs. Herman Kipp, who passed away at the home of her son, Wm. Kipp, residing about one mile south of Castalia, on Wednesday morning last after an illness of several weeks.
As Elizabeth Gerhardt she was born on July 25, 1859. She spent the past thirty years in Winneshiek Co.
In 1890 she was united in marriage to Herman Kipp. Four children were born to this union, Wm. Kipp of Castalia; Joe Kipp of Ossian; Frank Kipp of Collis, Minnesota; and Mrs. Helen Wiltghen of Rochester, Minnesota, all of whom survive her. Her husband preceded her in death several years ago.
Father Carey officiated at the service and interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
The sympathy of their neighbors and many friends is extended to the bereaved relatives.
