All information in this memorial are from the original Find A Grave Memorial #102548956 LILLIAN "BILL" MILLWOOD GRIFFIN created 24 DEC 2012 by Suzanne E Presley.

Mary Lillian Millwood Griffin was known to the family as "Bill". I am sure one of the Presley boys thought this was funny and it stuck.

My Aunt Bill married to Sumpter David Griffin, known as Uncle Sump, on 14 September 1923. Uncle Sump was the first born to Noah Presley and Susan Izora Griffin Presley, with Sump keeping Susan's maiden name of Griffin, per my grandmother, Ethel Presley, since he was older and had gone by that name, he did not want to change it. The first three of Noah and Susan's children were born prior to their marriage. The younger two boys' names were changed to Presley once Noah and Susan were married.

Bill and Sump had three children together and they all lived in Cedar Hill, Texas.

1. Herman Clint Griffin, born 03 Aug 1924, Tupelo, Lee Co., MS, died 10 Jul 1981 Cedar Hill, TX
2. Harriette Phebble Griffin, born 27 Jan 1927, Tupelo, Lee Co., MS, died 26 Mar 1928, Tupelo, Lee Co., MS
3. Oma Mazelle Griffin Taylor, born 6 Sep 1928; died 19 Oct 2005; spouse Harold Gene Taylor born 18 Sep 1926; died 23 May 2003.

Aunt Bill had a collection of miniatures from anywhere someone would bring her one.
She is greatly missed.

CONTRIBUTOR NOTE FOR CLARIFICATION: MemphisGirl refused to delete or transfer the duplicate memorial 184978433/2017 she created of Mary Griffin, as a "row mower", to Suzanne E. Presley, original contributor. In turn, MemphisGirl had to abide with my request (Georgia Griffin) for transfer of this memorial as I am a descendant and she is not. I requested the merge of the original memorial with the duplicate. F/G merged the incorrect memorial as the primary. Georgia transferred this memorial "back to" Suzanne E Presley, 9 NOV 2020, as it is truly her work. MemphisGirl wrote nothing in the content of the F/G Memorial #102548956/2012. Georgia states "I consider MemphisGirl greedy and her efforts an attempt at theft of the primary contributor's work. She knew as a row mower to look for the primary memorial 102548956 and she chose to ignore. She knew as a contributor that she could have requested edits had there been any new information or edits. She chose to ignore my family's request to do the right thing."
