Services for Mrs. Adams will be 11 AM Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the Sanderson Funeral Home Chapel in Carthage with son, Scott L. Adams, delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Adams family lot at Smith County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 PM to 8 PM Monday and 9 AM until service time on Tuesday at the Carthage Chapel, 901 Main Street North in Carthage. Mrs. Adams, of Lebanon, died at 5:29 AM Saturday, July 5, 2008 at her Valley View Circle home of pulmonary fibrosis. Adams was the Valedictorian of her 1960 graduating class of Smith County High School, a longtime employee of the former National Life and Accident Insurance Company of Nashville before retiring from the Cracker Barrel corporate offices in 2004. She was a member of the College Hills Church of Christ in Lebanon. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by parents, John Gordon Kirby and Mary Lashinsky Kirby. She was survived by husband, of almost 42 years, Rex Lewis Adams; two children, Kelly (Chris) Armistead of Lebanon, Scott (Kelly) Adams of Phoenix, Arizona; brother, Jack Kirby of Nashville; grandson, Carston Jude Adams of Phoenix, Arizona.
