She left school after the 6th grade to join the rest of her family working in the fields because even at a young age her parents instilled the value of family in her and it made such an impression that she continued to love and treat everyone the way she was raised. Laura was know for being a hard worker, loving, caring, and devoted to her family. After her husband Edward passed away she worked extra hard to provide for their young son and buy a home to raise him in. She retired from National Western Insurance Company in 1992. She always showed her love and understanding. She is and will always be loved by all.
She was married to R.L. Whited on April 17, 1987 who proceeded her in death. She was married to Lester Kotrla on January 17, 1981, who preceded her in death. She was married to Edward Albright on August 29, 1946, who preceded her in death.
Her 3 brothers Henry, Edwin, and Walter Schumacher and 3 sisters Velma Poehls, Olga Schumacher, and Lillian Neimann all preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son Gary Mayhew and wife Tracey Mayhew of Killeen, granddaughter Connie Connolly and husband Michael Connolly of Killeen, granddaughter Yvonne Kline of Cedar Park, granddaughter Amy Orvis and husband William Orvis of Somerville, grandson Avery Moreland of San Antonio, grandson Jeffery Moreland of Austin, great granddaughters Sabrina and Silver Kline, great grandson Zander Moreland-Kline, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at All Faiths Funeral Home. Visitation and Chapel service will be held, interment to follow at Cooke-Walden Capital Memorial Park.
