Helen M. Cassidy, 79, of 1210 W. Bridge St., Streator, died at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 8, 2000) at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, Streator, the Rev. Deo Gratias Mutefunya officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Streator. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Solon & Baker Funeral Home, Streator, with the rosary recited at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial may be made to American Lung Association or to Friends of St. Mary's Hospital.
She was born Jan. 21, 1921, at Odell, a daughter of Claude and Oma Wolfe Allen. She married Francis J. Cassidy on March 5, 1948. He died Nov. 11, 1989.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn (Peter) Arnold, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; and Mary Ann Cassidy, Chicago; three sons, John Cassidy, Streator; Michael Cassidy, Jamestown, N. C.; and Thomas (Jane) Cassidy, Pontiac; two brothers, Max (Frances) Allen, Streator; and Willis (Louann) Allen, Ottawa; two sisters, Mary Lou Gragson, Pontiac; and Jean (Tom) Kimes, Streator; and seven grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Terry Cassidy; two sons in infancy; and infant brother, Richard Allen; a sister, Faye Cox; and a granddaughter.
