Donald E. Carle, age 89, a Manitowoc resident, died early Tuesday morning, November 14, 2017 at Laurel Grove, Manitowoc.
He was born on July 15, 1928 in Manitowoc, son of the late Charles Carle and Hulda Rasmussen. Donald was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. On July 16, 1955 he married the former Elerene Shimek at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Donald was a painter for various companies until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping and spent winters in Texas with Elerene.
Survivors include his wife : Elerene Carle, Manitowoc; three sons and daughters-in-law: Brian & Paula Carle, Green Bay, Kenneth & Christine Carle, Sheboygan, Craig & Brenda Carle, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren: Justin Carle, David (Meghan) Ottman, Amber Carle, Steven (Amanda) Carle, Michelle Carle, Danielle Carle, Noah Carle and three great grandchildren: Collin, Tenli and Zylyn. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother: Carroll Carle and three sisters: June Kloppenburg, Caroline Neuman and Shirley Alfredson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m Friday, November 17, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall (1114 South 21st Street). Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall (1114 South 21st Street) Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2017 until 10:45 a.m.
