THE PARIS NEWS, Thu., Jul. 11, 1996, p. 12A: ‘Mrs. Boyce (Odell) Reed, 80, formerly of Rt. 6, Paris, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 1996, in St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center. Services will he held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 12, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Blake Dunagan and Dr. Pat Otwell officiating. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and will he at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Mullens, 345-12th SE, at other times. Mrs. Reed was born Jan. 22 1916, in Lamar County, a daughter of Joe Willie and Hattie Paulk Smith. She graduated from High School and Paris Commercial College. Through the years she had been associated with First Federal Savings and Loan Association, the law offices of Cedric Townsend and the Federal Land Bank from which she retired in 1978. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church where she taught the Naomi Ladies’ Sunday School Class and had served as secretary-treasurer of the church. She was a former member of the Paris Business and Professional Women’s Club. She married Boyce Reed May 20, 1944, in Waycross, Ga. He died June 13, 1979. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. John (Lottie) Tharp, Mrs. Lester (Louise) Mullens and Mrs.A.V. (Regina) Wacasey, all of Paris; four sisters-in-law, Mrs. D.T. (Prentice) Jumper of Waco, Mrs. Hubert (Pauline) Darnell, Rt. 10, Paris, Mrs. Edgar (Hazel) Stone of Paris, and Mrs. Troy (Jan) Reed of Paris; and numerous nieces and nephews. If desired, donations may be made to the Providence Baptist Church or to a charity of choice.′
