Mitzi was also passionate about working with disabled persons, making sure that they, too, had the opportunity to learn to swim and feel the freedom in the water that they were unable to have on land due to their disabilities. She worked at the old Jewish Community Center in Cherry Hill, teaching all manner of people, and all ages, how to swim.
Mitzi was a talented artist, painting many pieces of artwork for family and friends. She loved reading, and haunted the book stores looking for the latest titles from her favorite authors.
Mitzi had been widowed since 1990, when her soulmate, Lawrence "Larry" Boggs passed away suddenly. They met when she was but a sweet young high school senior, and Larry was recently discharged from the US Navy, having served during World War II on a PT Boat in the South Pacific. Larry was working as a pin setter at the bowling alley in Oaklyn, where the two met and fell in love. They were married in 1947, and were separated only by his death. May they now be having a joyous reunion for all of eternity.
