Mrs. Alberta L. Field, wife of Charles W. Field, the attorney, died yesterday at her home, 601 Cathedral street. Mrs. Field became ill about a year ago, but her condition was not considered critical until last week. During the last day or two little hope was held out for her recovery.
Before her marriage Mrs. Field was Miss Alberta von Lingen, daughter of the late George A. von Lingen, who was at one time the German Consul at this port and head of the shipping firm of A. Schumacher & Co.
Mrs. Field held a prominent place in society and her father and her mother entertained extensively at their home on Mount Vernon Place. When Prince henry of Prussia visited Baltimore on his tour of this country Mrs. Field's father received him and made the address of welcome.
