Agnes Starnes Carter Kilgore, 95, from Starnes Bluff, Virginia went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2017.

Aggie enjoyed traveling, camping, dancing and listening to gospel and country music. She retired from Eastman after 40 years of service in the Acetate Yarn Division. Although, she did not have children of her own, she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her first husband, Paul Carter; parents, Walker and Ellen Hill Starnes; step-mother, Nan Starnes; brothers, Roy, Bob and Johnny Starnes; sisters, Beulah, Lottie and Joyce Starnes, Mattie Bellamy and Ora Peters; nephew, Wayne Bellamy.

Surviving are her sisters, Grace Ferguson, Rose Fritz and Judy Stallard (Lawton); brothers, Bill and Charles Shelton Starnes; sister-in-law, Joan Starnes; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and one great-great.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 22, 2017 or anytime at Aggie’s home. Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 pm in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel at Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services with Dennis Fritz and Sammy Peters officiating. Music will be provided by Dennis Fritz and Marsha Mullins.

Graveside Service will follow in the Garden of Everlasting Life at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank Comfort Keepers, Asbury Steadman Hill and Wexford House for their special care of Aggie. Sherry Rhine and Ellen Yeary will especially miss our little ray of sunshine after caring for her several years. Special thanks to nieces Pat Dishner, Tammy Gibson, Melissa Goodwin, Marsha Mullins, and Patsy Fritz.
