Passed away on July 29, 2002 in Roseville, CA. Born November 21, 1916 to Clara and Edward Byers at Kahlotus, Washington. He came to the Sacramento area in 1942. During WWII he served with the Army as a medical technician in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He participated in the Philippine Liberation. Later he became a civilian fireman at the Sacramento Army Depot. He was a member of the Antique Engines Club. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Marjorie Byers of Sacramento, sister Hazel Taylor of Washington State and niece Virginia Leischner of Oregon State. Family and friends are invited to visitation Wednesday, August 7, 2002 from 4-8PM and attend services Thursday, August 8, 2002 at 11:00 AM both at Sacramento Memorial Lawn 6100 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA.
