Published church records from Sugg's Creek in Wilson Co., TN give birthdate as May 23, 1797 which differs from the age on his stone which calculates to May 22, 1799.

Needham was a Cumberland Presbyterian minister. Land records narrow down the death of first wife Francis B. (Fanny B.) Hamilton as 1832 or 1833 in probably Macoupin or Morgan Co., Illinois. She was widow of Alexander McNeely. His second wife was Mary Ann Bettisworth/Worth who later married Reason Mills.

Needham and Fanny's oldest daughter Sarah married James Myler and likely died in Polk Co., Iowa in 1846. Her burial place isn't known.
