The Campbells married Sept. 5, 1959 in Greenville. They had two sons, Michael and Carroll III, and four grandchildren. Gov. Campbell died in 2005 after battling Alzheimer's disease.
Mrs. Campbell died in her sleep at her home in De Bordieu after a brief illness.
