Everett Ray Bausell October 14, 1921 – September 7, 2015 Everett Ray Bausell, 93, of Browning Missouri, died on Monday, September 7, 2015, at the St. Lukes Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri. Everett was born near Cora, Missouri on October 14, 1921 the son of Earlen and Marjorie Bausell. His father Earlen passed away after his return from WWI when Everett was four years old. Everett attended a one room school house while he and his mother lived in the Cora area. His mother, Marjorie, married Elba Taylor several years later and they lived in Chicago for a number of years. Elba, Everett's stepfather, was one of his greatest friends and advocates. On December 20, 1941, Everett married Annabell Lee Taylor and they raised two children Patricia and Richard. Everett was called to service in the Army during WWII in December 1942 shortly after the birth of his first child Patricia. Everett served with the historic First Division during WWII and was involved in three major battles including the invasion of Normandy, France, the Battle of the Bulge, and the invasion of Sicily. During this time Everett served with distinction and was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with the Silver Star, two Bronze stars, one Bronze star with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Liberation of France shoulder braid, the combat infantry badge and other awards. Following the war, Everett returned to his home in Chicago for a short time and then decided to enter the Air Force to devote a 21 year career in service to his country. He served in a number of assignments during this time including Air Force bases in Newfoundland, England, Illinois, Michigan, Texas, Alabama and Missouri. Following his military retirement in 1966, Everett owned and operated a number of private businesses including a car dealership, a restaurant, a vacation lodge, and a service station. He retired from private business in the 1980s, moved to St. James, Missouri and later Rolla. In 1991 he and Ann moved to Browning where they have lived for the last 24 years. Everett loved the Lord and was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church. He served in the church in various capacities of leadership for many years. Everett enjoyed trout fishing in the beautiful Meramec Springs waters near St. James, Missouri. In addition to trout fishing, he was an avid bass and crappie fisherman and spent many fishing trips with his son and other relatives. He was a big supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals and an expert of the NASCAR circuit and tracked his Ford driving team's performance every weekend. Everett was an accomplished cook, as well, and enjoyed making his favorite dishes for family and friends. He was known for his excellent coffee and apple, peach, and blueberry pies. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and stepfather. Everett is survived by his wife Ann, his son Richard Bausell and wife Elaine from Chesterfield, Missouri, his daughter Patricia Lowe from Browning, his sister Selma Prevost, his grandchildren Brandon Lubbert and wife Pam and their children Eva and Alaina; Andy Lubbert and wife Amy and their children Grant, Ethan, and Elizabeth; Kiersten Lechleitner and husband Charles and their children Anna and Matthew; Liesel Schlueter and her husband Kraig and daughter Kora; Jennifer Mueller and husband Donnie and their children Jacob, Ava, and Stella; Heather Bausell; Eric Bausell and wife Laure Lee and their children Cole, Adelaide, Marjorie, and Lucilia. Everett was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Funeral services for Everett will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan, Missouri. Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Friday evening, at the funeral home.
