Mr. Adams was proud to have been affiliated with the Grosse Pointe Chapter of the Barber Shop Chorus. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II, and he was a member of Parents Who Care Bowling League, benefiting the mentally handicapped.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn (nee Hanley); children, Barbara Adams and James (Susan) Adams; stepchildren, Kent and Keith Smith; and 12 grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 48115 Schoenherr (between 21 Mile and 22 Mile roads), Shelby Township.
Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Tuesday at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, 36900 Schoenherr (at Metropolitan Parkway), Sterling Heights. Additional visitation is 11-11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
