Woodrow Roger Casto, 77, of Nitro, formerly of Cross Lanes, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 1997, in Thomas Memorial. Hospital after a short illness. He was retired from the Charleston Housing Authority, , was a Protestant, an Army veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Surviving: wife, Connie Monk Casto; daughters, Rhonda Milbee of Poca. son, Clarence of Ohio, Tammy Brown of Taylors, S.C., Greta Atkins and Debbie Templeton, of Scott Depot, Becky Evans of South Charleston; brother, Clifford of South Charleston; sister, Faye Zimmerman of Hurricane; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Service will be 1 p.m. today at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. William Layne, Jr. and the Rev. Greg Casto officiating. Burial with military rites by VFW Post 8129, will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
