Rosalie was the daughter of Edward Mason Martell and Anna Schwartz. He paternal grandparents were Bonami Martell and Phoebe Woodward.

Rosalie married James F. Creasman on 22 April 1961 in Los Angeles County. They divorced in September 1969.

"Rosalie Frances (Martell) Creasman, passed away on March 24, 2017 of natural causes in her sleep at her home in Downey, CA. She was age 78 years old. She was born on Jan. 12, 1939 in Milbank South Dakota to Edward and Ann Martell. She was one of 12 children.

Rosalie will be remembered for her love of her family. She was a strong, independent, and generous woman. Rosalie loved traveling, gardening, and quilting. She took many vacations that lead her back home to her siblings in South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. She traveled to Hawaii to see her brother Lyle. She attended many family reunions. She traveled to Europe a few time and took several cruises to Alaska, Mediterranean, and to the Panama Canal locks and Mexico. She also traveled to Canadian Rockies, Australia, and New Zealand with her sister Helen and brother-in-law Walter. She also took day trips with the local senior group of Downey. She enjoyed both her rose and iris gardens. She was a member of the Lakewood Garden Club in Lakewood, California. She would give quilts as gifts and later the quilts were prize possessions for the recipients.

She lived in Milbank, South Dakota, until August, 1956; she traveled by bus to live with her sister Helen and her family in South Gate, California. She graduated from Downey High in 1958. She took a few classes at Cerritos College for advancement at work. She married in 1961 and later divorced. She had one daughter Colleen. She worked as a bank teller, telephone operator, and later as a line assigner. She retired from AT&T (Pacific Bell) at the age of 59. She enjoyed her retirement.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Albert, Helen, Charles, Genevieve, Gene, Kenneth, Phyllis, Lyle, and a still born infant. She is survived by siblings, Alvin "Roy" Martell of Alexandria, Minnesota; Rita Vriem of Wilmot, South Dakota. She is survived b her daughter Colleen La Rosa (Mark) and grandchildren Richard, Mariann and Antonio of Downey, CA. She is survived by many relatives.

Services will be held on April 6th at 3 p.m. at Forest Lawn Mortuary in Cypress, California. Rosalie will be cremated. Some of her ashes will be returned to Milbank Cemetery at a later date."
