"George Palmer Mooney, 63, of 451 Lehigh St., Allentown, died Monday in his home.
A cook and baker for 22 years, he most recently was a baker for Stewart Sandwiches, Emmaus, before retiring. Before that he was a cook for the former City Vue Diner, Whitehall, and for Walp's Restaurant, Allentown.
Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Jacob and Lauretta (Smith) Mooney.
He was a cook in the Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors: Son, David of Allentown; daughters, Colleen, wife of Richard Aungst in West Virginia, and Terri, wife of Richard Haddad of Germansville; brother Earl of Catasauqua; sister, Shirley, wife of Peter Sikorsky of Allentown, and eight grandchildren.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sell Funeral Home, 1145 Lehigh St., Allentown. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday."
