He attended Two Rivers public school, and upon leaving Washington High School, he enlisted with the United States Navy. Peter served overseas in various warzones on the Samuel Gompers AD37 for eight years as a pipefitter and firefighter. He enjoyed travelled around the world including the months he had spent at the South Pole.
After returning home, Peter had worked at various shipyards as a pipefitter and also at Smokey Barbier Heating. He was a great handyman who liked helping anyone in need. Peter loved spending time at the family land smoking fish and making sausage. He was enjoyed hunting and being outdoors.
Survivors include Peter's life partner, Crystal Taddy, Two Rivers; five children (names not listed), all of Arizona; father, Robert Staab, Two Rivers; mother, Marlene Bornemann, Kewaunee; two brothers, Patrick (Raelene) Staab, Two Rivers; and Paul (Supapon) Staab, Green Bay; two sisters, Peggy (Rick) Maigatter, Two Creeks; and Colleen Bornemann, Milwaukee; also nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Peter was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Desiree; stepmother, Sally Staab; and stepfather, Roland Bornemann.
A Life Celebration Social for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, and will conclude with military rites accorded by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #731 at 7 p.m. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
