Weldon was born in Percilla in Houston Co, TX to William Zachariah and Hattie May Dickey Brumley. His parents are buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Percilla. Weldon shared a stone with his wife, Luna Franklin Ferguson, who he married 11 May 1935. He died in Palestine. He was survived by three daughters, Kathy Ann Brumley Wilson and Bonita Brumley Miles, both of Palestine, and Lavida Wynema "Nema" Brumley Shinn of Porter; one brother, Tillman Brumley of Houston; two sisters, Reba Box of Houston and Edna Jones of Huntington; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. His obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Thursday, 30 April 1992.
