In loving memory of Margaret "Maggie" Ann Hughes, 70, of Dallas, the wife of Wayne H. Hughes and the daughter of the late John and Assunta Mullen, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017.

Wayne and Margaret celebrated 50 years of marriage this year and renewed their vows and love for one another in April 2017.

Margaret is survived by two children, Carolyn (Wade) Stermer and Constance (Ted) Ostler, and two grandchildren, Kassandra and Krystal Stermer. Margaret was one of 10 children, Maryann Gibbons, the late John and late Thomas Mullen, Michael (Patricia) Mullen, Eileen (Rich) Brown, Patricia (David) Bradbury, James Mullen, Teresa (Rich) Tomlinson and Rita (Val) Sanchez, and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was born in Philadelphia, lived in Bensalem as a young lady and had been a resident of Dallas for 37 years. Margaret graduated from Bishop Conwell High School in Levittown in 1965.

Margaret and Wayne worked side by side together for 25 years in their family harness horse racing business. She returned to school later to study business at College Misericordia.

Margaret taught CCD for more than 20 years, and served as a Eucharistic minister at St. Frances Cabrini Parish. She loved to teach children the Gospel and was a strong woman of faith. Margaret attended adoration at church every week. With her involvement with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, as well as her devotion to her beloved prayer group, Margaret was truly a daughter of God.

Margaret was known by her nickname, Maggie, by her family and friends. She was a woman who loved to cook, bake, garden and make jam and pumpkin bread. Those who knew her would say she was filled with life and had a lot of spunk. Her early departure has left a hole in many lives, but we are confident that she has arrived safely into the arms of our savior Jesus Christ, whose love has shown through his daughter Margaret Hughes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Friday in St. Frances Cabrini Church, 585 Mount Olivet Road, Wyoming. The Rev. James J. Paisley will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
