Gale Raymond Riggs, 66, of McClure, Ohio died Monday afternoon, July 22, 2013 at University of Toledo Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. He was born September 22, 1946 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to the late Raymond Gale and Dorothy (Mitchell) Riggs. On April 13, 1981 he married Jackalean "Jackie" Gray in Grand Rapids, Ohio. Gale grew up on a large dairy farm in Milan, Michigan and was a 1964 graduate of Milan High School. He was a farmer and truck driver for the former Tem-Cole Radish, McClure. He was also an owner/operator leased with F & K Enterprise and also drove truck for O'Neal Steel, Toledo, Ohio. He was a member of Teamsters Local 20, Toledo and former president of McClure Village Council. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. They considered him a "work-aholic" and "pack-rat", and appreciated his interest in politics and genealogy. He is survived by his wife, Jackie; children, Rae Lynn Riggs, Adrian, Michigan; Ronnie Seegert, Adrian, Michigan; Rachel (Greg) Garrett, Killeen, Texas; Danny Riggs, Adrian, Michigan; Shannon (Rhonda) Rhoads, McClure, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, McClure. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Ohio. Visitation will be from 10 a.m - 2 p.m., prior to the services in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
