Lulu's obituary, published in the San Diego Tribune on 14 March 1984 stated that she was a Mission Hills homemaker; a member of Eastern Star, Rebecca Lodge, and the Women's Club of San Diego; and that she had lived in San Diego for 74 years. She was survived by two sons, Donald of San Diego and Julius of Lemon Grove, and two daughters, Velma Potts of National City and Irene Panfil of San Diego, four grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were on 15 March at the Greenwood Mortuary, followed by burial at Greenwood Memorial Park.
